NATIONAL WATER WEEK

Our connection to water goes beyond simple hydration; it keeps our entire planet alive and well. Throughout the week, guests and locals alike are invited to reflect on how we use, value, and care for water through national initiatives designed to build water literacy and make a positive impact.

1. WaterAid Walk for Water 2026 (19–23 October)

Globally, nearly one in ten people (696 million) do not have clean water close to home. Many women and children walk long distances daily to collect water, often sacrificing their education.

  • The Initiative: Walk, run, or ride during your stay at Palm Cove.
  • How to join: Dedicate your morning beach walks or resort jogs to raising awareness and fundraising for WaterAid, helping communities gain access to clean water for the first time.

2. Water Night 2026 (22 October, 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM)

Take part in a unique national event supporting stronger action on climate change and water awareness.

  • The Challenge: On Thursday, 22 October, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, we challenge our guests and households nationwide to turn off all taps and running water (except for essential use).
  • The Goal: By stepping away from easy access to running water for just a few hours, we can collectively improve our water knowledge and truly value its place in our lives.
